Job Title: Senior Finance Manager

 

Responsible to: Group Financial Controller

 

Role

This is a newly-created leadership role for a qualified accountant to manage and provide direct input to the company’s financial accounting activities.  The Finance Manager will work in close association with direct reports as well as Group Financial Controller to maintain all financial records, processes, reporting, internal controls, and financial systems within the business, identifying and recommending improvements where appropriate.

 

Responsibilities

•             Line management of junior members of the finance team (two Management Accountants and one Accounts Assistant)

•             Key relationship manager between the Group’s finance function and the external bookkeepers engaged across the four operating regions, providing guidance where required

•             Participate in the development of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts, including ongoing analysis tools to provide insight of financial performance at the cost centre level

•             Preparation and submission of information to statutory authorities, including HMRC

•             Oversight of Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel and Expense Reporting and Tax Compliance (including quarterly VAT returns)

•             Maintains and improves company financial systems

•             Assist in the year end audit process by applying relevant IFRS technical knowledge and liaising with auditors where required 

•             Provide IFRS accounting and SEC reporting expertise to the company and stay current on developments in these areas (with guidance from Group Financial Controller)

•             Ad hoc company projects and other activities as assigned

 

Education and Experience

•             Post qualified ACCA/ Chartered Accountant at least three years, with industry experience in commercial accounting roles

•             People management experience desired

•             Demonstrable background in understanding what makes for an effective control environment

•             IFRS and GAAP technical proficiency

•             Strong ability in the use of accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word). Microsoft Dynamics experience ideal

•             Budgeting/strategic planning/impairment testing model experience desirable 

•             ‘Big 4’ public accounting experience preferred

•             Sarbanes Oxley experience favourably looked upon
